RELL Seas Progression Guide

RELL Seas progression is nonlinear. There is no single correct first hour, but there is a useful order of decisions: race, fighting style, faction, then talents.

The game is still unreleased, so this page is a pre-launch plan based on current community documentation, not a live walkthrough.

First decisions

1. Pick a race

RaceWhy pick it
HumanNo special traversal lock; standard Haki and style access
MinkSpeed, Electro, and beast-themed identity
Fish-manUnderwater breathing, swimming, underwater islands, Fishman Karate
SkypieanFlight or high jumps, sky islands, Observation themes
CyborgListed on community wikis, but not as firmly confirmed at character creation

Race is also an exploration choice. Fish-man and Skypiean change which parts of the map you can reach.

2. Pick a fighting style

Current named styles:

  • Fishman Karate for Fish-man
  • Electro for Mink
  • Black Leg as the non-exclusive kick style

See RELL Seas Fighting Styles.

3. Pick a faction

The documented factions are Pirates, Marines, and Bounty Hunters. See RELL Seas Factions.

Talents as the main grind

Talents are one of the main ways to progress. Community coverage describes 10 or more talent trees, about 7 to 8 skills per tree, and three mastery ranks: Novice, Adept, and Expert.

The skill tree also covers:

  • fishing
  • wood cutting
  • cooking
  • mining
  • shipwriting
  • crafting
  • navigation
  • thievery
  • combat

If you want the most efficient start, pick one combat tree and one utility tree instead of trying to max everything at once.

See RELL Seas Talents.

Combat stack

A full combat setup is more than a weapon:

  1. Weapon class: light, medium, heavy, or ranged
  2. Fighting style
  3. Up to six Haki posters
  4. A God Fruit if you find one

Weapons can be upgraded at Blacksmith NPCs on islands. Every weapon type has an M1, so there is no dead weapon family for basic attacks.

Ships and exploration

Treat sailing as progression, not just travel.

  • Use Ship Exploration Mode for movement, cannons, and anchoring.
  • Switch to Ship Battle Mode when naval combat starts.
  • Watch for sea events such as sea beasts, ship wars, marine wars, ghost ships, and cargo protection.
  • Submarines are documented as an underwater path.

The world itself is large: about 28 to 30 islands, four seas, and seven depths. See RELL Seas Islands.

Fruits and Haki

God Fruits are expected to be world finds, not gacha pulls. See RELL Seas Devil Fruits.

Haki posters are a six-slot loadout across Armament, Observation, and Conquerors. Community notes also mention Belly-priced chests with a low poster drop chance and a restock timer.

Community-reported controls

These controls come from community guides, not from an official manual:

ActionCommon bind
MoveWASD or analog stick
Attack / M1Left click
BlockF
DashQ
JumpSpace
SprintShift
InteractE
InventoryTab or B
MapM

Expect these to change at launch.
